EYE Alumni Spotlight: Dakota Williams

Dakota Williams is one of our amazing seniors at Chicago Hope Academy. She hails from the Austin neighborhood on the west side. So far, she has been accepted into eleven schools, including two of her dream schools, Jackson State University and Xavier University, where she wants to study Political Science.

During her junior year, Dakota impressed her teachers and mentors in her Entrepreneurial Youth Experience class by creating a cooking business called Katered by Kota -- within the first two weeks, she had paid back the program loan! And more impressively, within three months, she grossed $1000. Since then, she has catered a wedding and other private dinners and continues to look for ways to serve her community.

We are so proud of Dakota, who is currently ranked 15th in her senior class, and boasts a 3.75 weighted GPA. The sky is the limit for her -- we've seen her leadership in the classroom and on the basketball court. We have no doubt that she'll "send the elevator" back to her peers at Hope. That's what Hope students do!
