Judah Mallette is a senior in the EYE Program this year and is on his way to tremendous success. He is the epitome of a student-athlete, having been named an IHSFCA all-state wide receiver and named to the academic all-state team (3.6 Cumulative GPA) while being voted team captain. Mallette led the team to a first-round playoff berth where they lost to a strong BeDe team. Made up of mostly freshmen and sophomore, the young Eagle squad is hopeful for next year!
Judah attributes his success to God and to his parents, Chris (Hope’s head football coach and Director of Community Engagement) and Kendall (Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at DePaul College Prep) who’ve sacrificed tremendously for him. “My Mom is the hardest working person I’ve ever met — she has always beat the odds,” said Malette, “and my Dad has never let me settle.”
At Hope, Judah has enjoyed his time in EYE. “It’s an awesome class that allows me to gain new perspective and understand business and myself in a different way. I also get to work with people I may not otherwise as we tackle tough challenges,” he says of the program. Judah’s team is working on a Podcast designed to prepare minority students for college or the professional world — look for it on Spotify or Apple podcasts soon!
An aspiring Business major, Judah aspires to play high level football in college and is currently getting looks from Ivy League and other marquee D1 programs.
